Nguyễn Nhật Minh came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Pylis AG's Nguyễn Thai. But to his dismay, Nguyễn Thai quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 8 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Thai had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nguyễn Nhật Minh. Son Tay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nguyễn Thai was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 11th minute Nguyễn Thai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Nhật Minh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute, Lê Ritchell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Nguyễn Diem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Pylis AG getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Nguyễn Khoi hit a great ball. Nguyễn Nhật Minh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lê Ritchell in the 25th minute of the match. The Pylis AG fans' excitement grew in the 27th match minute when Pylis AG's Nguyễn Thai looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Nguyễn Thai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lê Hoang kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. In the 47th minute Lê Ritchell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Nhật Minh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Son Tay players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Pylis AG were winning 0-3.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nguyễn Diem to make the kick off.
