After a rather tough play, Dong Nai's Nguyễn Hieu Ngan got a free kick in the 14th minute. If Trần Hung had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. Nguyễn Tho struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Nguyễn Phong didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dong Nai. Nguyễn Huy charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Huy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Phan Quang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Lâm Binh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 46 minutes, Liễu Hong mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bu Dop and the Dong Nai players grew even worse after the yellow card. Liễu Hong kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Nguyễn Tho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Phong having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After 65 played minutes Dong Nai got a freekick which was hit by Mai Thi Ngoc. A long shot from Đặng Thi in the 66th minute of play was well struck, but Lâm Binh made a really good save at the right post. Dong Nai's Lâm Binh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phan Quang in the 67th minute of play. Mai Thi Ngoc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 79 minutes into the match, Dong Nai's goal looked a bit too open when Phan Quang came free, but Lâm Binh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 80 played minutes Bu Dop got a freekick which was hit by Võ Dinh. After recieving a nice pass, Dong Nai's Đỗ Minh Phượng tried to score from far away in the 81st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 87 minutes into the match, Dong Nai's goalkeeper Lâm Binh had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Trần Hung. Trần Hung could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Lâm Binh made a huge save. The supporters of Bu Dop booed when Dong Nai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Huy didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Trần Hung managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bu Dop's supporters rose to their feet, but Trần Hung was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lâm Binh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 91st minute, Phan Quang got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Bu Dop's goalkeeper Nguyễn Phong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 95 played minutes Bu Dop got a freekick which was hit by Liễu Hong. Bu Dop were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
