Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Nha Trang's Nguyễn Duong started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nha Trang's goalkeeper Dương Than, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hoàng Thai in the 8thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Trần Mai, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Nguyễn Cong Vinh hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Trần Cuc, 11 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a rather tough play, Nha Trang's Nguyễn Cong Vinh got a free kick in the 12th minute. Dương Than showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Tinh, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Rach Gia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Trần Cuc in the 20th minute. In the 28th minute Nguyễn Cong Vinh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trần Mai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Tinh's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dương Than was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Trần Mai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Duong in the 40th minute of play. With a little luck, Rach Gia's Trần Mai got control of the ball when Hoàng Thai tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dương Than took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Đặng Bien, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Đặng Bien recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
Hoàng Thai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Mai having to interfere. Trần Mai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Duong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 2-0 became the score in the 58th minute when Hoàng Thai elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 64th play minute Nguyễn Tinh came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Dương Than. 2-1. After 68 played minutes Nha Trang got a freekick which was hit by Phạm Hieu. Trần Dong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Đặng Bien managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rach Gia's supporters rose to their feet, but Đặng Bien was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dương Than breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 86 minutes into the match, Rach Gia's Nguyễn Tinh sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dương Than narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Đặng Bien managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rach Gia's supporters rose to their feet, but Đặng Bien was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dương Than breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
