Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ba Ria's Nguyễn Cuc started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 3 minutes, Nguyễn Phuoc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nha Trang's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Phuoc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lê Dung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lý Xuan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Ba Ria's Mai Chi got a free kick in the 7th minute. If Lý Xuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Phuoc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Dung having to interfere. Ba Ria's Chung Hung got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 18th match minute, Nha Trang was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Đỗ Hoa to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Nha Trang's zone, Nguyễn Cuc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lê Thai came out of the goal and Nguyễn Cuc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Nguyễn Phuoc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lê Thai made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Chung Hung sent off a good shot on target. Chung Hung fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Thai having to interfere. In the 35th match minute, Nha Trang was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phạm Thanh Bình to maneuver through the defense. Lê Dung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lý Xuan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lê Dung didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lý Xuan went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Nha Trang's Trần Hieu Ngan got a free kick in the 43rd minute.
After 52 played minutes Ba Ria got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh. In the 55th minute of the match Nha Trang got a corner. Ba Ria's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Huỳnh Dinh ran over to the corner to take the kick. After having played for 60 minutes, Lý Xuan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nha Trang's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lý Xuan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Chung Hung had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 67 minutes into the match, Ba Ria's goalkeeper Lê Dung had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lý Xuan. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nguyễn Cuc in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lê Thai saved Nha Trang from getting behind. In the 75th minute, Lê Duc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nguyễn Cuc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Chung Hung managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ba Ria's supporters rose to their feet, but Chung Hung was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lê Thai breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Nha Trang booed when Ba Ria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Nguyet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Phuoc struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Lê Dung didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nha Trang. With a little luck, Ba Ria's Lê Dung got control of the ball when Lý Xuan tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Nha Trang players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
