Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Huỳnh Tấn Dũng got the match started through his kick off. Ba Ria's Lê Dung played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Huỳnh Tấn Dũng in the 5th minute of play. After 20 minutes, Phan Bay mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nha Trang and the Ba Ria players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Nha Trang getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Phan Bay hit a great ball. Hoàng Thanh came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Ba Ria's Chung Hung. But to his dismay, Chung Hung quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After some careless play in the Nha Trang defense, Chung Hung kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hoàng Thanh. The Nha Trang fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hoàng Thanh should have stopped the shot. In the 35th minute of the match Trần Thanh Bình sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lê Dung skillfully saved the ball. In the 36th minute Huỳnh Tấn Dũng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Dung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Nha Trang getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Phan Bay hit a great ball. Phạm Tong shot from long distance in the 39th minute, but Hoàng Thanh was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 40 played minutes Ba Ria got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh. Lê Dung showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Lien in the 44th minute of the match. 48 minutes into the match, Nha Trang's goalkeeper Hoàng Thanh had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chung Hung. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nguyễn Cuc was the one to do the kick off. Nguyễn Lien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lê Dung showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Huỳnh Tấn Dũng, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Nguyễn Lien took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lê Dung. Lê Dung dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. When Nguyễn Lien came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Nha Trang fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Lien couldn't finish the play. When Nha Trang's Nguyễn Lien in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ba Ria's goalie prevented a goal. Nha Trang's Hoàng Thanh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chung Hung in the 68th minute of play. If Huỳnh Tấn Dũng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chung Hung received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Hoàng Thanh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Nha Trang getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Nguyễn Tuan hit a great ball. In the 79th match minute, Ba Ria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phan Thuy to maneuver through the defense. 83 minutes into the match, Nha Trang's Nguyễn Tuan broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 84 played minutes Ba Ria got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Dinh. Ba Ria's Nguyễn Cuc got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Hoàng Thanh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ba Ria. Nguyễn Cuc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hoàng Thanh having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ba Ria fans cheered their team off the field, for while Nha Trang had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
