Nguyễn Thi Ngoc could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Lê Van Tai Em made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lê Thuyet in the 16th minute of play forced Son Tay's goalkeeper Vương Huynh Duc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lê Van Tai Em took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hoàng Cuc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lê Van Tai Em came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Son Tay's Nguyễn Thi Ngoc. But to his dismay, Nguyễn Thi Ngoc quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Vương Huynh Duc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lê Thuyet, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Nguyễn Quang hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Phan Tong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vương Huynh Duc having to interfere. Nguyễn Thi Ngoc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Lê Van Tai Em tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Đoàn Thai ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Do Son's Đoàn Thai to fire away a dangerous shot which Vương Huynh Duc despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Nguyễn Tan was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 34 minutes into the match. A collision led to Do Son getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Nguyễn Tan hit a great ball. Son Tay's Trần Mai couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 35th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Do Son. After a defensive mix-up in Do Son's zone, Nguyễn Thi Ngoc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lê Van Tai Em came out of the goal and Nguyễn Thi Ngoc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 46th minute, Son Tay's Hoàng Cuc dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lê Thuyet made a kick off. If Trần Nghiêm-Minh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lê Thuyet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th minute, one of Do Son:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Do Son. Lê Thuyet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute, Nguyễn Thi Ngoc ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lê Van Tai Em was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Lê Thuyet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lê Thuyet got free with Vương Huynh Duc in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hoàng Cuc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Lê Thuyet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, Son Tay could leave the field as winners, despite Do Son having more of the ball for most of the match.
