An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Tho in the 12th minute of play forced Son Tay's goalkeeper Vương Huynh Duc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Ducanh's Nguyễn Tho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vương Huynh Duc narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 18th minute, Dương Liem got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 30 played minutes Son Tay got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Quang. After 31 played minutes Son Tay got a freekick which was hit by Hoàng Cuc. In the 32nd minute, Dương Liem got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Son Tay getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Nguyễn Thi Ngoc hit a great ball. Vương Huynh Duc came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Ducanh's Nguyễn Tho. But to his dismay, Nguyễn Tho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1.
Nguyễn Duy hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Ducanh's Vương Huynh Duc threw himself towards the right post 55 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nguyễn Tho, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Hoàng Cuc struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Trần Mai didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Son Tay. After 64 played minutes Son Tay got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Tấn Dũng. Trần Mai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Thi Ngoc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Son Tay booed when Ducanh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Hung didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Nguyễn Thi Ngoc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hoàng Cuc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Trần Mai tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ducanh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Son Tay the free kick. Trần Mai went to the wrong direction when Trần Mai was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Nguyễn Tho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Nguyễn Duy fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Son Tay's protests and gave Nguyễn Duy a yellow card for diving instead. After 93 played minutes Son Tay got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Duy. Son Tay's Vương Huynh Duc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Tho in the 98th minute of play. After 98 played minutes Son Tay got a freekick which was hit by Hoàng Cuc. The Ducanh players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
