Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Vũ Nam kicked off to start the match. After some careless play in the Nha Trang defense, Vũ Nam kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nguyễn Hung. The Nha Trang fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nguyễn Hung should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chung Duc in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dương Teo saved Qui Nhon from getting behind. Dương Teo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chung Duc in the 12th minute of the match. Nguyễn Hieu Ngan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chung Duc in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dương Teo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Chung Duc charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chung Duc the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Chung Duc hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Nguyễn Hieu Ngan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Hung made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vũ Nam in the 27th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Nha Trang's zone, Nguyễn Hieu Ngan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Hung came out of the goal and Nguyễn Hieu Ngan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nguyễn Hieu Ngan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Nguyễn Hung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Vũ Nam had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nguyễn Hung. Nha Trang's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vũ Nam was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Lê Dong didn't quite understand what happened when in the 40 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. If Nguyễn Cong Vinh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dương Teo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chung Duc, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Qui Nhon's Dương Teo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Qui Nhon from getting a goal against them. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
In the 57th minute, Chung Duc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 59 played minutes Qui Nhon got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Huy. Nguyễn Hung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Hoa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 69 minutes, Trần Hoa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Qui Nhon and the Nha Trang players grew even worse after the yellow card.
