After a rather tough play, Ducanh's Nguyễn Minh-ha got a free kick in the 37th minute. Dương Liem took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nguyễn Phu. Nguyễn Phu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. When Nghiêm Minh came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Vinh Yen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nghiêm Minh couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

54 minutes in the game, Nghiêm Minh dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nghiêm Minh in the 55th minute of play forced Ducanh's goalkeeper Trần Mai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Trần Mai was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nghiêm Minh showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 77 minute of play. Vinh Yen's Lê Dung got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 85 played minutes Ducanh got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Hung. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ducanh's goalkeeper Trần Mai, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Lê Dung had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lê Dung kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 94thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Ducanh's keeper Trần Mai was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. After 96 played minutes Nghiêm Minh rounded Ducanh's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-2.
