Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Nghiêm Minh kicked off to start the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lê Dung got free with Nguyễn Hung in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nguyễn Phu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chung Duc's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Vinh Yen's Nguyễn Phu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chung Duc in the 8th minute of play. In the 12thth minute of the game Lê Dung who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nha Trang's Nguyễn Hung was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 13th minute Nghiêm Minh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Hung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Phu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Cong Vinh in the 15th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Vinh Yen's Lê Dung sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nguyễn Hung narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lê Dung who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 20thth minute tested the skills of Nguyễn Hung when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Nguyễn Hung was a little too slow when Nghiêm Minh got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 22nd minute. The score was now 1-0. Nguyễn Cong Vinh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Nguyễn Phu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Lê Dung came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Vinh Yen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lê Dung couldn't finish the play. The referee gave Vinh Yen a penalty, 39 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Đoàn Tho, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Nha Trang's Nguyễn Hung. 3-0. Chung Duc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Phu having to interfere. After having played for 49 minutes, Lê Dung managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vinh Yen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lê Dung was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chung Duc to make the kick off. Chung Duc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Cong Vinh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Nguyễn Phu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Vinh Yen's Đinh Nguyet got a free kick in the 73rd minute. 76 minutes into the game, Nghiêm Minh cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Nguyễn Hung was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nguyễn Cong Vinh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. In the 82nd minute, Lê Dung got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 83 minutes into the game, one of Nha Trang:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Đoàn Tho shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Nguyễn Hung made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nghiêm Minh in the 91st minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Chung Duc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lê Dung fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Hung having to interfere. Vinh Yen were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Nha Trang for a fine match.
