Dương Teo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dương Liem, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Vũ Nam's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Trần Mai read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Qui Nhon's zone, Dương Liem stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dương Teo came out of the goal and Dương Liem tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vũ Nam to make the kick off. If Vũ Nam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the Qui Nhon players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
