The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Cau Hai's Hồ Tho got control of the ball when Dương Liem tried to sneak it across the goal line. 16 minutes into the game, one of Cau Hai:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Hồ Tho had in the 18thth minute some difficulties stopping Nguyễn Tong's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Trần Mai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Thuy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Trần Thuy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 25 minutes of play, Cau Hai's Trần Thanh Bình made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Trần Mai was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Phạm Phuoc fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ducanh's protests and gave Phạm Phuoc a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cau Hai booed when Ducanh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phạm Phuoc didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd match minute, Ducanh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Tho to maneuver through the defense. When Cau Hai's Trần Thanh Bình in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ducanh's goalie prevented a goal. Nguyễn Mai kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nguyễn Tho was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dương Liem in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hồ Tho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dương Liem might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hồ Tho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dương Liem ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lê Duc during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 62nd minute, one of Ducanh:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ducanh. The goalkeeper, Trần Mai, was totally fooled by Cau Hai's Lê Thai, who 64 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 70 minutes into the game, Huỳnh Tấn Dũng was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cau Hai's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ducanh the free kick. A collision led to Cau Hai getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Huỳnh Tấn Dũng hit a great ball. Trần Thanh Bình received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Trần Mai tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ducanh's Hoàng Thien got a free kick in the 80th minute. With a little luck, Ducanh's Trần Mai got control of the ball when Trần Thanh Bình tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Ducanh getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Nguyễn Minh-ha hit a great ball. If Trần Thanh Bình had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute Nguyễn Tho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hồ Tho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Trần Thanh Bình got free with Trần Mai in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Cau Hai had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
