Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Trần Hung kicked off to start the match. When Binh Duong's Nguyễn Cuc in the 2nd minute got a chance for a shot 2nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dong Son's goalie prevented a goal. After 7 played minutes Binh Duong got a freekick which was hit by Trần Thai. Hoàng Minh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Cuc, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After having played for 19 minutes, Trần Hung managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dong Son's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trần Hung was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hoàng Minh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Cuc in the 22nd minute of the match. After having played for 26 minutes, Nguyễn Thanh Bình managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Binh Duong's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Thanh Bình was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hoàng Minh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Cuc in the 30th minute of play. Lê Nga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Trần Hung's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. After 34 minutes of play Dong Son's Nguyễn Binh was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 34th match minute, Dong Son was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Binh to maneuver through the defense. Hoàng Minh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Cuc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Binh Duong defense, Hoàng Mai kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lê Nga. The Binh Duong fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lê Nga should have stopped the shot. Hoàng Minh stood somewhat misplaced when Nguyễn Thanh Bình came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 44 minute.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nguyễn Cuc was the one to do the kick off. Nguyễn Cuc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Hoàng Minh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Dong Son's Nguyễn Hoang got a free kick in the 54th minute. Hoàng Minh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Cuc in the 60th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Dong Son's zone, Nguyễn Thanh Bình stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hoàng Minh came out of the goal and Nguyễn Thanh Bình tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 64 minutes into the match, Dong Son's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Cuc came free, but Hoàng Minh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hoàng Minh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Cuc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Trần Hung's late challenge caught a Binh Duong's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Trần Hung helped the player get up and apologised. In the 73rd minute, Trần Hung hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Cuc's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hoàng Minh was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. In the 78th match minute, Binh Duong was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mai Phuoc to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nguyễn Cuc in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hoàng Minh prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 87th minute Nguyễn Cuc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hoàng Minh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Dong Son's goalkeeper Hoàng Minh, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nguyễn Huỳnh's late challenge caught a Binh Duong's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nguyễn Huỳnh helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Binh Duong booed when Dong Son was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Huỳnh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Binh Duong's Trần Thai was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Hoàng Minh in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A collision led to Binh Duong getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Mai Phuoc hit a great ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
