Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Trần Loc made the kick off which started today's match. Trần Loc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Mai Minh Phượng tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Nguyễn Phuoc fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vinh Long's protests and gave Nguyễn Phuoc a yellow card for diving instead. Nguyễn Phuoc hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After having played for 6 minutes, Nghiêm Khoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vinh Long's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nghiêm Khoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dong Son's Nguyễn Anh Hung played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nghiêm Khoi in the 9th minute of play. Nguyễn Anh Hung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nghiêm Khoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Dong Son getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Nguyễn Van Tai Em hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bùi Viet got free with Mai Minh Phượng in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Trần Loc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bùi Viet could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Mai Minh Phượng made a huge save. Huỳnh Cadeo's late challenge caught a Vinh Long's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Huỳnh Cadeo helped the player get up and apologised. Huỳnh Cadeo kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Dong Son's Nguyễn Van Tai Em got a free kick in the 25th minute. Lê Tấn Dũng took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nguyễn Anh Hung. Dong Son's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The long shot by Nguyễn Nhật Minh in the 28th minute really tested Mai Minh Phượng's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After 31 minutes of play Dong Son's Huỳnh Cadeo was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Huỳnh Cadeo kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 37th minute Nghiêm Khoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Anh Hung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Vinh Long getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Nguyễn Phuoc hit a great ball. After 41 played minutes Vinh Long got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Duc. Trần Hoang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Anh Hung having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Trần Hoang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Anh Hung having to interfere. Trần Quang hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Mai Minh Phượng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bùi Viet, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Nghiêm Khoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mai Minh Phượng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bùi Viet in the 82nd minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Dong Son's Bùi Viet sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mai Minh Phượng narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mai Minh Phượng took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bùi Viet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 91st minute, Trần Loc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nghiêm Khoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Loc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mai Minh Phượng having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Dong Son fans cheered their team off the field, for while Vinh Long had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
