Nguyễn Anh Hung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Quang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nguyễn Anh Hung stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nguyễn Quang's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. Dong Son's Nguyễn Anh Hung played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lê Huy in the 15th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Dong Son's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Quang came free, but Nguyễn Anh Hung reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Dong Son defense, Lê Huy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nguyễn Anh Hung. The Dong Son fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nguyễn Anh Hung should have stopped the shot. Trần Loc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 34th play minute Bùi Viet came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Nguyễn Thien. 2-1. In the 40th match minute, Dong Son was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Van Tai Em to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Loc hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Nguyễn Quang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Anh Hung having to interfere. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paris Saint Germain's goalkeeper Nguyễn Thien, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 49 minutes had been played when some careless play by Dong Son's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Hoàng Ritchell was slow to take the kick. During this time Paris Saint Germain's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Paris Saint Germain's corner Hoàng Ritchell fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nguyễn Anh Hung quite easily take care of the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nguyễn Quang to make the kick off. After 56 minutes, Trần Loc mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dong Son and the Paris Saint Germain players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 56 played minutes Dong Son got a freekick which was hit by Trần Loc. Lê Huy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Nguyễn Anh Hung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lê Huy came free with the goalkeeper in the 63rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Nguyễn Anh Hung could save by the left post. Paris Saint Germain's Nguyễn Thien played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trần Loc in the 76th minute of play. In the 84th minute, Nguyễn Van Tai Em hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 86 minutes into the match, Dong Son's goalkeeper Nguyễn Anh Hung had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lê Huy. The audience was convinced that Trần Loc's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nguyễn Thien was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. In the 91st minute, Bùi Viet made a precise shot to the right of Nguyễn Thien. Paris Saint Germain's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. 94 minutes into the match, Trần Loc had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nguyễn Thien. Paris Saint Germain's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Trần Loc was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Dong Son fans cheered their team off the field, for while Paris Saint Germain had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
