Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) When Beast's Trần Tuan in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vinh Long's goalie prevented a goal. Trần Hoang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vũ Tấn Dũng having to interfere. Tôn Nga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Mai Minh Phượng made a huge save. In the 13th minute, Trần Hoang ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vũ Tấn Dũng was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Trần Hoang recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mai Minh Phượng took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Tuan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Trần Tuan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mai Minh Phượng having to interfere. Vinh Long's Mai Minh Phượng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trần Tuan in the 35th minute of play. Tôn Nga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mai Minh Phượng having to interfere. When Tôn Nga came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Beast fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tôn Nga couldn't finish the play. Vũ Tấn Dũng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nghiêm Khoi in the 43rd minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Trần Hoang notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Beast's Vũ Tấn Dũng. Vũ Tấn Dũng was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half Vinh Long were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Trần Tuan made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Beast's zone, Nghiêm Khoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vũ Tấn Dũng came out of the goal and Nghiêm Khoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Trần Hoang got free with Vũ Tấn Dũng in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 56 played minutes Beast got a freekick which was hit by Trần Teo. Trần Tuan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mai Minh Phượng having to interfere. When Nghiêm Khoi came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Vinh Long fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nghiêm Khoi couldn't finish the play. If Tôn Nga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nghiêm Khoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vinh Long's Mai Minh Phượng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tôn Nga in the 68th minute of play. The supporters of Beast booed when Vinh Long was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Phuoc didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 70 minutes of play, Beast's Trần Tuan made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mai Minh Phượng was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 77th match minute, Vinh Long was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by La Nghiêm-Minh to maneuver through the defense. Tôn Nga took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mai Minh Phượng. Mai Minh Phượng dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Vũ Tấn Dũng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nghiêm Khoi in the 83rd minute of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
