Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Viet Tri's Đặng Dinh started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Viet Tri's La Thuyet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chung Hung in the 8th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Binh in the 13th minute of play forced Viet Tri's goalkeeper La Thuyet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Đặng Dinh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. La Thuyet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chung Hung, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th minute of the match Lưu Nam shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but La Thuyet showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Nguyễn Thanh Bình made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Nguyễn Tong sent off a good shot on target. After 32 played minutes Việt Nam got a freekick which was hit by Bùi Thi Ngoc. After 36 played minutes Viet Tri got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Duong. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Nguyễn Binh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Việt Nam's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Binh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. La Thuyet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Viet Tri's zone, Chung Hung stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. La Thuyet came out of the goal and Chung Hung tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Đặng Dinh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Nguyễn Tong, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 48 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Nguyễn Thanh Bình was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nguyễn Binh made a kick off. 60 minutes into the game, Trần Nga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Viet Tri's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Việt Nam the free kick. After a rather tough play, Viet Tri's Trần Nga got a free kick in the 60th minute. Viet Tri's La Thuyet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Binh in the 62nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Viet Tri's Nguyễn Cadeo got a free kick in the 91st minute. 95 minutes into the match, Việt Nam's Nguyễn Binh sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that La Thuyet narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Chung Hung fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without La Thuyet having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
