Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Đinh Van Tai Em started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 10th match minute, An Loc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Dung to maneuver through the defense. Lê Lam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Đinh Van Tai Em in the 11th minute of play. A collision led to An Loc getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Nguyễn Dung hit a great ball. In the 13th minute, Nguyễn Quang Thanh sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and An Loc's Lê Lam didn't even have to move. After 14 played minutes Đinh Van Tai Em rounded An Loc's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Lê Lam stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Đinh Van Tai Em's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Phan Huỳnh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Bien in the 22nd minute of play. When Hồ Phuc came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the An Loc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hồ Phuc couldn't finish the play. Phan Huỳnh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Bien, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Manchester City's Đỗ Cuc sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lê Lam narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hồ Phuc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phan Huỳnh having to interfere. Đỗ Cuc might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lê Lam. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Đỗ Cuc ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Đinh Van Tai Em in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lê Lam prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 46 played minutes Manchester City got a freekick which was hit by Lê Minh. Lê Minh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nguyễn Bien stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hồ Phuc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Đỗ Cuc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Lê Lam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lê Lam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Đỗ Cuc in the 58th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Đinh Van Tai Em in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lê Lam saved An Loc from getting behind. Đinh Van Tai Em sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 94th minute, Đinh Van Tai Em ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lê Lam was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Manchester City's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
