Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Đặng Dinh kicked off to start the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 3rd minute of the game. One of Bạc Liêu:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Viet Tri:s goal. When the match had been going on for 5 minutes, Viet Tri's Nguyễn Tho got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Nguyễn Tan. 9 minutes into the game, Viet Tri's Nguyễn Tong nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nguyễn Tan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Nguyễn Tan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Đặng Dinh, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Trần Nga charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Trần Nga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trần Duc in the 22nd minute of play forced Viet Tri's goalkeeper La Thuyet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Duong lost his temper 25 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The supporters of Bạc Liêu booed when Viet Tri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Duong didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nguyễn Minh in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck La Thuyet prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Trần Duc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without La Thuyet having to interfere. After 43 played minutes Viet Tri got a freekick which was hit by Trần Nga. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
If Trần Duc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 54 minutes, Lê Tuyet mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Viet Tri and the Bạc Liêu players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Bạc Liêu booed when Viet Tri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lê Tuyet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Viet Tri's La Thuyet proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Viet Tri from getting a goal against them. La Thuyet made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Trần Duc sent off a good shot on target. Nguyễn Tong scored 3-0 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nguyễn Tan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Nguyễn Cadeo came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Bạc Liêu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Cadeo couldn't finish the play. Trần Duc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. La Thuyet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Viet Tri were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Bạc Liêu for a fine match.
