The supporters of Ha Tinh booed when Tuyen Quang was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trịnh Binh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dương Khoi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nguyễn Hong Minh went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 12 minutes into the match, Ha Tinh's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Tuan came free, but Lê Cadeo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nguyễn Tuan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lê Cadeo having to make a save. Nguyễn Hong Minh kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Lê Cadeo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nguyễn Cuc in the 35th minute. Lê Cadeo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Tuan, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nguyễn Cuc in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lê Cadeo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lê Cadeo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Tuan in the 87th minute of the match. In the 89th minute, Nguyễn Hong Minh left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ha Tinh fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ha Tinh's goalkeeper Lê Cadeo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 96th minute Nguyễn Tuan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Cadeo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ha Tinh's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
