Nguyễn Quang Thanh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Thi Ngoc in the 5th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Thi Ngoc in the 12th minute of play forced Tuyen Quang's goalkeeper Nguyễn Quang Thanh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Viet helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Bien Hoa's Nguyễn Viet got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Tuyen Quang's Đặng Duong managed to work through Bien Hoa's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Đặng Duong dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. 46 minutes into the match, Bien Hoa's goal looked a bit too open when Dương Cuc came free, but Nguyễn Lam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nguyễn Viet hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
