Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 7-1 FC's Nguyễn Nam started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mong Cai's Tôn Tu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Nam in the 9th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mong Cai's Mai Thi Ngoc got a free kick in the 10th minute. Võ Tuan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Nguyễn Viet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Nam in the 14th minute of play forced Mong Cai's goalkeeper Tôn Tu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in 7-1 FC's zone, Trịnh Binh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Viet came out of the goal and Trịnh Binh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 18 minutes, Trịnh Binh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mong Cai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trịnh Binh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nguyễn Viet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Võ Tuan in the 19th minute of play. After 20 played minutes 7-1 FC got a freekick which was hit by Huỳnh Tong. In the 25th match minute, 7-1 FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Huỳnh Tong to maneuver through the defense. 26 minutes into the match, Mong Cai's Trần Thuyet broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Nguyễn Viet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Võ Tuan in the 27th minute of play. Trịnh Binh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Viet having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Mong Cai's Võ Tuan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nguyễn Viet. Nguyễn Viet yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Nguyễn Nam blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tôn Tu having to make a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After having played for 54 minutes, Võ Tuan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mong Cai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Võ Tuan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Võ Tuan struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Nguyễn Viet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mong Cai. After 60 played minutes 7-1 FC got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Thuyet. Nguyễn Viet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trịnh Binh in the 61st minute of the match. With a little luck, Mong Cai's Tôn Tu got control of the ball when Ngô Tan tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 73 played minutes 7-1 FC got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Thuyet. After having played for 74 minutes, Trịnh Binh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mong Cai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trịnh Binh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Võ Tuan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Viet having to interfere. Nguyễn Viet didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Trịnh Binh went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Nguyễn Viet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Võ Tuan in the 97th minute of play.
