A collision led to Hòa Binh FC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Vương Duong hit a great ball. Nguyễn Teo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vương Duong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd match minute, Hòa Binh FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Quang to maneuver through the defense. If Phan Pham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gia Ngh's Nguyễn Teo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vương Duong in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Hòa Binh FC's goalkeeper Huỳnh Tuan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Dinh in the 34th minute of play forced Gia Ngh's goalkeeper Nguyễn Teo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Phan Dinh in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Huỳnh Tuan saved Hòa Binh FC from getting behind. Phan Pham might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Huỳnh Tuan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Phan Pham ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nguyễn Quang during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 52 played minutes Hòa Binh FC got a freekick which was hit by Huỳnh Tấn Dũng. Gia Ngh's Phan Pham got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Huỳnh Tuan came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Gia Ngh's Phan Dinh. But to his dismay, Phan Dinh quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. 65 minutes into the match, Phan Pham notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Hòa Binh FC's Huỳnh Tuan. Huỳnh Tuan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nguyễn Teo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lưu Phong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nguyễn Teo acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 76th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Huỳnh Tấn Dũng. In the 83rd minute Phan Pham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Huỳnh Tuan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Dinh had several of the Gia Ngh's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 84 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-1 score and a disappointed Nguyễn Teo as he didn't even see the shot coming.
