Nguyễn Viet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trần Tho in the 38th minute of the match. In the 46th minute Trần Tho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Viet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Viet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Tho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Trần Tho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 86 minutes of play 7-1 FC's Huỳnh Tong was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Kontum booed when 7-1 FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Huỳnh Tong didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 89th match minute, 7-1 FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Đỗ Thi Ngoc to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice moves Tôn Tấn Dũng could shoot a difficult shot in the 91st minute, which Nguyễn Viet however easily saved by the left post. Trần Tho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nguyễn Viet came out and tried to block the shot, but Trần Tho slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 96th minute.
