Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Lưu Phu kicked off to start the match. When Nguyễn Dinh came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Hòa Binh FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Dinh couldn't finish the play. After 10 played minutes Son La got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Hung. After 17 played minutes Hòa Binh FC got a freekick which was hit by Vương Duong. Nguyễn Pham was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nguyễn Dinh showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 23 minute of play. In the 26th match minute, Son La was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trần Van Quyen to maneuver through the defense. 26 minutes into the match, Hòa Binh FC's Nguyễn Chi broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Huỳnh Tuan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Cadeo in the 30th minute of play. 32 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Nguyet was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Son La's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hòa Binh FC the free kick. Nguyễn Nguyet kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Vương Duong didn't quite understand what happened when in the 34 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Lương Lam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Nguyễn Pham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Cadeo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nguyễn Dinh was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Hòa Binh FC booed when Son La was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Van Quyen didn't get a good kick on the ball. 52 minutes into the match, Son La's goal looked a bit too open when Lương Lam came free, but Nguyễn Pham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Hoàng Cuc fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Son La's protests and gave Hoàng Cuc a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Son La's Hoàng Cuc got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 57th minute, Nguyễn Hung hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hòa Binh FC's Huỳnh Tuan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Hòa Binh FC from getting a goal against them. Nguyễn Dinh struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Nguyễn Pham didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hòa Binh FC. 63 minutes into the match, Hòa Binh FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lưu Phu came free, but Huỳnh Tuan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 65 minutes into the game, Vương Duong was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lương Lam in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nguyễn Pham saved Son La from getting behind. Nguyễn Dinh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Pham having to interfere. Lưu Phu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Huỳnh Tuan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. Lương Lam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Pham having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Hòa Binh FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Son La had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
