Manchester Dr Fc's Nguyễn Hoang got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dương Loc charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dương Loc the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nguyễn Phu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lê Chi in the 41st minute of play. If Nguyễn Minh Phượng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lê Chi struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Nguyễn Phu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ho Chi Minh City. After the first half Manchester Dr Fc were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lê Chi to strike the kick off in the second half. Lê Chi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Ho Chi Minh City's Trần Dong got a free kick in the 55th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Nguyễn Hoang managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester Dr Fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Hoang was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lê Thi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nguyễn Hoang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Lê Thi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 60 played minutes Manchester Dr Fc got a freekick which was hit by Dương Loc. Nguyễn Minh Phượng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Phu having to interfere. If Lê Chi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Phu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Minh Phượng in the 68th minute of the match. Nguyễn Hoang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Thi having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Dương Loc managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lý Khoi hit a great ball. 78 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Hoang dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lê Thi, 1-3. Nguyễn Minh Phượng received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Nguyễn Phu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manchester Dr Fc's Nguyễn Phu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Minh Phượng in the 94th minute of play.
