Phạm Lam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dương Hung in the 18th minute of play. Trần Tuan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lê Dong in the 20th minute of play. A collision led to Quốc Vương getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Trần Pham hit a great ball. Trần Pham kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. After 27 played minutes Gia Huy FC got a freekick which was hit by Dương Hung. Gia Huy FC's supporters rose to their feet, but La Nam was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Phạm Lam breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Phạm Lam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phạm Lien in the 39th minute of play. When the match clock showed 46 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Phạm Lien sped through Quốc Vương's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Phạm Lam. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

If La Nam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gia Huy FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
