Đinh Huỳnh succeeded in the game's 8th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. Nguyễn Viet was out of position in the 12 minute of play, and Đinh Huỳnh capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Đinh Huỳnh really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Nguyễn Viet made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nguyễn Tuan in the 15th minute. After having played for 23 minutes, Phan Thanh Bình managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ngôi Sao Vàng's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phan Thanh Bình was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nguyễn Nam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Nguyet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. La Chi kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Da Nang's Nghiêm Xuan couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 28th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Ngôi Sao Vàng. 29 minutes into the match, Da Nang's Đinh Huỳnh sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nguyễn Viet narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 36 minutes into the game, Da Nang's Nguyễn Tuan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nguyễn Viet made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. With a little luck, Ngôi Sao Vàng's Nguyễn Viet got control of the ball when Nguyễn Tuan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nguyễn Viet was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Trần Huỳnh. After a defensive mix-up in Ngôi Sao Vàng's zone, Phạm Hanh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Viet came out of the goal and Phạm Hanh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nguyễn Viet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Đinh Huỳnh in the 43rd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 48 minutes, Nguyễn Nguyet put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Nguyễn Nam. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Đinh Huỳnh made a kick off. Nguyễn Viet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Tuan in the 54th minute of the match. Nguyễn Tuan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Viet having to interfere. Đinh Huỳnh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ngôi Sao Vàng's Huỳnh Thien shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 60th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Nguyễn Nam but with some difficulty. After 61 played minutes Da Nang got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh. Nguyễn Tuan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Viet having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phan Thanh Bình in the 67th minute of play forced Da Nang's goalkeeper Nguyễn Nam to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th minute, Phan Thanh Bình got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 74 minutes into the match, Ngôi Sao Vàng's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Tuan came free, but Nguyễn Viet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th match minute, Ngôi Sao Vàng was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Phu to maneuver through the defense. Đinh Huỳnh struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Nguyễn Viet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Da Nang. In the 78th minute, Bùi Dung hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nguyễn Viet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Tuan, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. 81 minutes into the match, Đinh Huỳnh notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Ngôi Sao Vàng's Nguyễn Viet. Nguyễn Viet was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Nguyễn Tuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Đinh Huỳnh blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nguyễn Viet having to make a save. 91 minutes into the match, Đinh Huỳnh notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Ngôi Sao Vàng's Nguyễn Viet. Nguyễn Viet was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ngôi Sao Vàng's Nguyễn Viet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Tuan in the 94th minute of play. Nguyễn Tuan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Đinh Huỳnh in the 98th minute of play forced Ngôi Sao Vàng's goalkeeper Nguyễn Viet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Da Nang's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
