Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Trần Ho started the match with the kick off. When Huỳnh Anh Hung fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vinh Yen's protests and gave Huỳnh Anh Hung a yellow card for diving instead. In the 3rd minute, Huỳnh Anh Hung hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vinh Yen's Lê Loc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Loc in the 4th minute of play. The attack was good, but when Nguyễn Dong in the 8th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. With a little luck, Vinh Yen's Lê Loc got control of the ball when Nguyễn Dong tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 19th match minute, Da Lat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Liễu Tho to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rd minute of the match Phạm Quang sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lê Loc skillfully saved the ball. Nguyễn Minh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Nguyễn Tuan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Loc dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lê Loc, 2-0. Lê Loc stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nguyễn Loc's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Nguyễn Loc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Loc having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nguyễn Loc made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Vinh Yen's Nguyễn Tấn Dũng got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 53rd minute Nguyễn Loc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Loc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Dong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Loc having to interfere. Nguyễn Dong scored 3-0 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lê Loc, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nguyễn Tuan made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Nguyễn Minh sent off a good shot on target. Nguyễn Tuan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trần Ho in the 66th minute of the match. If Nguyễn Loc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Da Lat's Nguyễn Dong in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vinh Yen's goalie prevented a goal. Nguyễn Tuan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nguyễn Minh in the 75th minute. Nguyễn Loc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Dong took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lê Loc. Lê Loc dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Nguyễn Dong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Lê Loc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Da Lat's Nguyễn Dong in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vinh Yen's goalie prevented a goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Da Lat had played much better football throughout.
