Hoa Binh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AOrz the free kick. The supporters of AOrz booed when Hoa Binh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Hoang didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute, Phạm Thi Ngoc fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Lâm Tu, passed just outside the right post. Nguyễn Hoang blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lê Tran having to make a save. Lê Tran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Binh in the 19th minute of the match. Nguyễn Thanh Bình hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Nguyễn Phuong struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Lâm Tu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AOrz. Nguyễn Thai charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Thai the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Hoa Binh getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Nguyễn Thai hit a great ball. Nguyễn Phuong recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpected shot in the 47th minute by Nguyễn Phuong got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Phạm Thi Ngoc stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vương Duc struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in AOrz's zone, Vương Duc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lê Tran came out of the goal and Vương Duc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lê Tran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vương Duc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nguyễn Binh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Phuong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of AOrz booed when Hoa Binh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lý Duc didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lê Huy's late challenge caught a AOrz's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lê Huy helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of AOrz booed when Hoa Binh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lê Huy didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute, Nguyễn Hoang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Phạm Thi Ngoc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Nguyễn Binh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hoa Binh's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Binh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lê Tran breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lê Tran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vương Duc, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. If Vương Duc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lê Tran made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nguyễn Binh in the 95th minute. In the 98th minute, Vương Duc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
