Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Nguyễn Loc took the kick off in the first half of the match. Nguyễn Minh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Nguyễn Tuan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 6th match minute, Phú Thọ FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chung Hoang to maneuver through the defense. Da Lat's Lý Teo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 10th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Vũ Than but with some difficulty. Phú Thọ FC's Nguyễn Tuan got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 15 minutes into the match, Da Lat's goal looked a bit too open when Đặng Phong came free, but Nguyễn Tuan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Phú Thọ FC's Nguyễn Minh got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Phú Thọ FC's Nguyễn Nam got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 22nd match minute, Da Lat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Dong to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Tuan came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Phú Thọ FC's Nguyễn Minh. But to his dismay, Nguyễn Minh quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Nguyễn Dong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Da Lat booed when Phú Thọ FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Cadeo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Nguyễn Dong came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Da Lat fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Dong couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Da Lat getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Phạm Quang hit a great ball. Nguyễn Loc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Đặng Phuc lost his temper 45 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 45th minute, one of Phú Thọ FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Phú Thọ FC. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nguyễn Minh to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Loc's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vũ Than was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Nguyễn Loc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vũ Than having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Nguyễn Nam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Phú Thọ FC's zone, Nguyễn Dong stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vũ Than came out of the goal and Nguyễn Dong tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Nguyễn Loc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Cadeo, 66 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Nguyễn Minh struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Nguyễn Tuan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Phú Thọ FC. Vũ Than showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Loc, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Da Lat's Nguyễn Dong got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nguyễn Dong recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nguyễn Nam charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Nam the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nguyễn Nam kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Vũ Than didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nguyễn Loc went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Phú Thọ FC's Nguyễn Nam got a free kick in the 95th minute. Nguyễn Dong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vũ Than having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Da Lat had won after a very even match.
