Lê Tran came out of the goal and Trần Ho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Phan Xuan was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 54th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Nguyễn Van Tai Em hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. 62 minutes into the match, AOrz's goalkeeper Lê Tran had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nguyễn Minh. Vinh Yen's Lê Loc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phạm Thi Ngoc in the 69th minute of play.
