Spectators: 7686 (Terracing: 5600, Seating: 1936, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tạ Phu started the match with the kick off. When Phan Dung came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the PADFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phan Dung couldn't finish the play. Phan Dung fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Nam having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Phan Dung ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nguyễn Nam was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 15thth minute of the game Đặng Duc who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PADFC's Trần Xuan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Đặng Duc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Nam didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Phan Dung went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Trần Xuan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Đặng Duc in the 35th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Đỗ Quang in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Trần Xuan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. PADFC's Trần Xuan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Đỗ Quang in the 43rd minute of play. After 44 played minutes Mong Cai got a freekick which was hit by Đỗ Quang. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Đỗ Quang to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lê Tu during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 51st minute, Lê Tu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 53rd minute Phan Dung shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Nam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Đỗ Quang in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Trần Xuan saved PADFC from getting behind. When Mong Cai's Đỗ Quang in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PADFC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 64th minute, Bùi Lam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Đoàn Diem, 64 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 66 played minutes Mong Cai got a freekick which was hit by Bùi Lam. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tạ Phu in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nguyễn Nam saved Mong Cai from getting behind. When Mong Cai's Đỗ Quang in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PADFC's goalie prevented a goal. Trần Xuan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Đỗ Quang in the 75th minute of the match. If Đặng Duc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, PADFC's Trần Xuan got control of the ball when Đặng Duc tried to sneak it across the goal line. Đỗ Quang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Xuan having to interfere. Trần Xuan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Đặng Duc in the 86th minute. PADFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
