Lê Teo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 4th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Hoàng Huynh Duc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Bùi Nguyet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 7 minutes into the game, Hồ Xuan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tay Ninh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tan An the free kick. Hồ Xuan kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. In the 13th match minute, Tan An was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phan Huỳnh to maneuver through the defense. When Huỳnh Minh-ha came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Tay Ninh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Huỳnh Minh-ha couldn't finish the play. Trần Khoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trần Hoa in the 18th minute of play. In the 21st match minute, Tan An was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lê Teo to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Trần Hoa during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Trần Hoa hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hoàng Huynh Duc in the 26th minute of play forced Tay Ninh's goalkeeper Bùi Nguyet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Huỳnh Minh-ha did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Trần Khoi 28 minutes into the match. Tay Ninh's Bùi Nguyet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Ritchell in the 31st minute of play. Phan Huỳnh took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bùi Nguyet. Tay Ninh's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Bùi Nguyet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Ritchell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Nguyễn Ritchell came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Tan An fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Ritchell couldn't finish the play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Phan Duc's late challenge caught a Tay Ninh's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Phan Duc helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Tan An fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 52nd minute. Penalty! The referee gave Tay Ninh a penalty, 54 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nguyễn Thanh Bình, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Tan An's Trần Khoi. 2-1. Bùi Nguyet came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Tan An's Hoàng Huynh Duc. But to his dismay, Hoàng Huynh Duc quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in Tay Ninh's zone, Hoàng Huynh Duc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bùi Nguyet came out of the goal and Hoàng Huynh Duc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nguyễn Pham's late challenge caught a Tan An's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. After 72 played minutes Tay Ninh got a freekick which was hit by Trần Hoa. Nguyễn Ritchell might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bùi Nguyet. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nguyễn Ritchell ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 80th minute, Hoàng Huynh Duc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Huỳnh Minh-ha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Khoi having to interfere. Trần Khoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phạm Tho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Huỳnh Minh-ha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hoàng Huynh Duc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute Huỳnh Minh-ha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trần Khoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Tan An had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
