Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Lý Lam got the match started through his kick off. Nguyễn Duong kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Lê Ho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Van Don Port's supporters rose to their feet, but Lê Ho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Nam breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lê Ho hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Lý Lam blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nguyễn Nam having to make a save. Lý Lam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mong Cai's Nguyễn Nam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lý Lam in the 17th minute of play. Lý Lam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Nam having to interfere. Van Don Port's defense didn't have a chance, in the 26th minute, when Đỗ Quang scored to the left of an out of position Lê Nga, making the score, 1-1. Nguyễn Nam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lý Lam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Trần Tong scored 1-2 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nguyễn Nam, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Đinh Hoang scored 1-3 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nguyễn Nam, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Trần Tong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Nam having to interfere. Nguyễn Nam came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Van Don Port's Huỳnh Hoang. But to his dismay, Huỳnh Hoang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. In the 47th minute Lý Lam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Nam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Đỗ Quang was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Mong Cai's zone, Trương Duy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Nam came out of the goal and Trương Duy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 57 played minutes Van Don Port got a freekick which was hit by Trương Duy. In the 62nd match minute, Mong Cai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bùi Lam to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Đinh Hoang in the 66th minute of play forced Mong Cai's goalkeeper Nguyễn Nam to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67thth minute of the game Lý Lam who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mong Cai's Nguyễn Nam was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lê Ho struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Nguyễn Nam didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Van Don Port. After a defensive mix-up in Mong Cai's zone, Lý Lam stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Nam came out of the goal and Lý Lam tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lý Lam could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Nguyễn Nam made a huge save. Lý Lam's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 80thth minute, Nguyễn Nam skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Lý Lam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute, Đặng Quang made a precise shot to the right of Nguyễn Nam. Mong Cai's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-6. Bùi Lam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Nga having to interfere. Lê Nga didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Liễu Tan went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-6 was the resulting score. Van Don Port played a much better game than Mong Cai and deserved their victory. The Mong Cai players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
