Eddie Billing showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bùi Lam in the 21st minute of the match. Nguyễn Nhật Minh charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Đỗ Quang blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eddie Billing having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Đỗ Quang's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eddie Billing was relentless in the 57th minute of the game.
