Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nguyễn Khoi started the match with the kick off. Nguyễn Khoi struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Phạm Thanh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dien Bien. In the 5th match minute, FC GOCCAY was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Dung to maneuver through the defense. 12 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Khoi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Phạm Thanh, 2-0. After having played for 24 minutes, Nguyễn Quang managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC GOCCAY's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Quang was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Dien Bien defense, Nguyễn Dung kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hoàng Phuc. The Dien Bien fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hoàng Phuc should have stopped the shot. After 37 played minutes Dien Bien got a freekick which was hit by Phạm Than. In the 41st minute, Nguyễn Nam got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lê Tuyet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 46 minutes, Lê Tuyet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC GOCCAY's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lê Tuyet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
If Nguyễn Nam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes into the game, Hoàng Khoi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dien Bien's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC GOCCAY the free kick. A collision led to Dien Bien getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Hoàng Khoi hit a great ball. 60 minutes into the match, FC GOCCAY's goal looked a bit too open when Phan Dung came free, but Phạm Thanh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Phan Dung had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Dien Bien getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Triệu Viet hit a great ball. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by Dien Bien's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Nguyễn Thai was slow to take the kick. During this time FC GOCCAY's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on FC GOCCAY's corner Nguyễn Thai fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Hoàng Phuc quite easily take care of the ball. In the 74th minute Phan Dung shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phạm Thanh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phạm Thanh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Khoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Nguyễn Quang fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC GOCCAY's protests and gave Nguyễn Quang a yellow card for diving instead. After 77 played minutes FC GOCCAY got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Quang. Văn Thi hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Dien Bien's Hoàng Phuc proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Dien Bien from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Dien Bien getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Hoàng Tuyet hit a great ball. The Dien Bien supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FC GOCCAY's performance. The match ended with a win for FC GOCCAY.
