But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Tuyet couldn't finish the play. Nguyễn Tuyet scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nguyễn Hoa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Trần Minh Phượng in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nguyễn Hoa saved Can Tho from getting behind. With 16 minutes on the clock, Phan Huỳnh commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The goalkeeper, Phạm Diem, was totally fooled by Can Tho's Phạm Nghiêm-Minh, who 18 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 21st minute, Can Tho's Nguyễn Van Quyen ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Phạm Diem. Phạm Diem yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. 24 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Duong dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Phạm Diem, 3-1. RPT AK's Phạm Diem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Van Quyen in the 26th minute of play. In the 29th minute Trần Minh Phượng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Hoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Can Tho had won after a very even match.
