Đỗ Diem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lê Thi Ngoc in the 5th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Tuyin Quan's goal looked a bit too open when Lê Thi Ngoc came free, but Đỗ Diem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute, Tuyin Quan's Lê Tuyet ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dương Liem. Dương Liem yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lê Thi Ngoc in the 15th minute of play forced Tuyin Quan's goalkeeper Đỗ Diem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Chuong notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Tuyin Quan's Đỗ Diem. Đỗ Diem was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 21 minutes into the match, Tuyin Quan's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Chuong came free, but Đỗ Diem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Đỗ Diem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mai Thuy in the 25th minute of the match. Mai Thuy took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Đỗ Diem. Đỗ Diem dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Dương Liem stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Trần Than's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Tuyin Quan's Đỗ Diem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Chuong in the 37th minute of play. Nguyễn Chuong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Đỗ Diem having to interfere. In the 45th minute Nguyễn Chuong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Đỗ Diem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Trần Than stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tuyin Quan's Đỗ Diem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mai Thuy in the 59th minute of play. In the 65th minute Chung Hung shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Đỗ Diem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Trần Dung made in the 74th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Tuyin Quan's Nguyễn Hoa. Mai Thuy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Đỗ Diem read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Đỗ Diem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chung Hung in the 91st minute of play. Mai Thuy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Đỗ Diem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nguyễn Chuong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over MASEW could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tuyin Quan throughout the match.
