Lê Thi Ngoc could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Nguyễn Huynh Duc made a huge save. Dương Liem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Tuan, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Trần Dung during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Trần Dung kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Trần Tan took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dương Liem. Dương Liem dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Hoàng Anh Hung hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tôn Duong during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Gang Thép FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Tôn Duong hit a great ball. Nguyễn Chuong's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nguyễn Huynh Duc read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Võ Cuc hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Chung Huỳnh took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dương Liem. MASEW's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Nguyễn Chuong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Huynh Duc having to interfere. Dương Liem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trần Tan in the 25th minute of play. Nguyễn Chuong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Nguyễn Huynh Duc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 34 played minutes Gang Thép FC got a freekick which was hit by Tôn Duong. Nguyễn Huynh Duc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mai Thuy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute Nguyễn Tuan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dương Liem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Gang Thép FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Mai Thuy made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Trần Tan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gang Thép FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trần Tan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dương Liem didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nguyễn Tuan went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Chuong's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nguyễn Huynh Duc was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chung Hung in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nguyễn Huynh Duc prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nguyễn Tuan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dương Liem having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Mai Thuy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nguyễn Huynh Duc was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Dương Liem made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Lưu Tong sent off a good shot on target. After 76 minutes, Nguyễn Hoang mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gang Thép FC and the MASEW players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 76th match minute, Gang Thép FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Hoang to maneuver through the defense. In the 78th minute, Lý Than hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 80 minutes into the game, Lý Than was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MASEW's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gang Thép FC the free kick. A collision led to MASEW getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Lý Than hit a great ball. 82 minutes into the match, MASEW's goal looked a bit too open when Trần Tan came free, but Dương Liem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 82 played minutes MASEW got a freekick which was hit by Lê Thi Ngoc. MASEW's Dương Liem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hoàng Anh Hung in the 94th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Gang Thép FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than MASEW.
