When Phạm Hong Minh came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the THANH HÓA FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phạm Hong Minh couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, AnHugo's Lý Phong got a free kick in the 4th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lê Chuong in the 7th minute of play forced AnHugo's goalkeeper Phan Chung to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 9 minutes into the match, AnHugo's goal looked a bit too open when Lê Chuong came free, but Phan Chung reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Phan Chung made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phạm Hong Minh in the 12th minute of play. The supporters of AnHugo booed when THANH HÓA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Nga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Trần Huỳnh lost his temper 16 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 15 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for AnHugo! Phan Chung had in the 18thth minute some difficulties stopping Nguyễn Nga's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 18th minute, Nguyễn Nga made a precise shot to the right of Phan Chung. AnHugo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 21stth minute of the game Phạm Hong Minh who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AnHugo's Phan Chung was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 25th minute Nguyễn Thuyet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phan Chung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phan Chung showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phạm Hong Minh, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Phan Chung showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phạm Hong Minh in the 34th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the game, Phạm Hong Minh cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Phan Chung was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 45 minutes into the match, AnHugo's goal looked a bit too open when Ngô Cuc came free, but Phan Chung reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Phạm Hong Minh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dương Lam was the one to do the kick off. After 54 minutes, Lê Chung mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AnHugo and the THANH HÓA FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, AnHugo's Lê Chung got a free kick in the 55th minute. Phan Chung made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phạm Hong Minh in the 56th minute of play. Phan Chung made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Lê Chuong sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Lê Chung's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nguyễn Lien was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, AnHugo's Trần Hoai got a free kick in the 64th minute. Phạm Loc's late challenge caught a AnHugo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. In the 81st match minute, AnHugo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phạm Chi to maneuver through the defense. AnHugo's Phan Chung played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phạm Hong Minh in the 83rd minute of play. Phan Chung was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nguyễn Thuyet showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 85 minute of play. Dương Lam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Lien having to interfere. Phan Chung made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ngô Cuc in the 91st minute. Nguyễn Thuyet kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Lê Chung struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Nguyễn Lien didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AnHugo. When the final whistle sounded THANH HÓA FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than AnHugo.
