Spectators: 7350 (Terracing: 6350, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Thai Binh's Mai Quang started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Trần Cong Vinh in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nguyễn Lan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, Thai Binh's Nguyễn Lan got control of the ball when Nguyễn Hoai tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cao Xanh FC's Bùi Phuoc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hồ Loc in the 9th minute of play. If Nguyễn Minh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 13 minutes into the match, Thai Binh's goal looked a bit too open when Trần Cong Vinh came free, but Nguyễn Lan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute Phùng Teo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bùi Phuoc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Trần Cong Vinh in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nguyễn Lan saved Thai Binh from getting behind. With a little luck, Thai Binh's Nguyễn Lan got control of the ball when Trần Cong Vinh tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nguyễn Lan came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Cao Xanh FC's Nguyễn Lien. But to his dismay, Nguyễn Lien quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. If Trần Cong Vinh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 28 minutes, Nguyễn Lan successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 33 played minutes Thai Binh got a freekick which was hit by Hồ Loc. When Trương Pham fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Thai Binh's protests and gave Trương Pham a yellow card for diving instead. In the 35th match minute, Thai Binh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trương Pham to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Minh got in the 36th minute the ball and tried a long shot which scored to the left of Nguyễn Lan and thus it was 2-0. Nguyễn Lan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Trần Cong Vinh's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. When Huỳnh Chuong fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Thai Binh's protests and gave Huỳnh Chuong a yellow card for diving instead. In the 40th minute, Huỳnh Chuong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cao Xanh FC's Nguyễn Minh got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Trần Cong Vinh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Nguyễn Lan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

If Trần Cong Vinh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Trần Cong Vinh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Nguyễn Lan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Lien struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Nguyễn Lan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cao Xanh FC. Nguyễn Lan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Trần Cong Vinh's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Nguyễn Lan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trần Cong Vinh, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Bùi Phuoc made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Nguyễn Duy sent off a good shot on target. After 66 played minutes Thai Binh got a freekick which was hit by Lê Thanh. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Trần Cong Vinh in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nguyễn Lan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Trần Cong Vinh blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nguyễn Lan having to make a save. After having played for 75 minutes, Trần Cong Vinh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cao Xanh FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trần Cong Vinh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nguyễn Lien scored 3-0 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nguyễn Lan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nguyễn Lan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Hoai, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Trần Cong Vinh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Trần Cong Vinh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Nguyễn Lan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cao Xanh FC's Nguyễn Lien got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Cao Xanh FC fully deserved thier win.
