When Lê Nam fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Leicester City's protests and gave Lê Nam a yellow card for diving instead. In the 15th minute, Lê Nam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 16 minutes into the match, Đặng Thuyet dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lê Duy, 1-0. Vũ Van Tai Em received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Vũ Hong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ngô Tuan Hoang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vũ Hong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ngô Tuan Hoang in the 29th minute of play. Đặng Thuyet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Duy having to interfere. Lê Bien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Duy having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Dao Phuong's zone, Nguyễn Hoa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vũ Hong came out of the goal and Nguyễn Hoa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd minute Đặng Thuyet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Duy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46thth minute of the game Nguyễn Hoa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dao Phuong's Vũ Hong was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 55th minute, Nguyễn Hoa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ngô Tuan Hoang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vũ Hong having to interfere. Lê Duy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lê Bien in the 64th minute of the match. Đặng Thuyet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Lê Duy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ngô Tuan Hoang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st minute of the match Nguyễn Huy sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vũ Hong skillfully saved the ball. Leicester City's Lê Duy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Đặng Thuyet in the 73rd minute of play. Vũ Hong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Hoa, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Lê Duy came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Dao Phuong's Đặng Thuyet. But to his dismay, Đặng Thuyet quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. 83 minutes into the game, Lê Bien cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Lê Duy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nguyễn Mai hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Leicester City's goalkeeper Lê Duy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Leicester City getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Vũ Van Tai Em hit a great ball. Dao Phuong's Vũ Hong proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Dao Phuong from getting a goal against them. Dao Phuong were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Leicester City for a fine match.
