Cao Xanh FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flash United F.C. the free kick. The supporters of Flash United F.C. booed when Cao Xanh FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phan Thai didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Phan Thai kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tạ Thi Ngoc. That made the score 2-0 in the 40 minute of play. Tạ Thi Ngoc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trần Cong Vinh, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute.

In the 53rd minute, Trần Cong Vinh ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tạ Thi Ngoc was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Flash United F.C.'s Tạ Thi Ngoc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Hoai in the 58th minute of play. The tension between the Cao Xanh FC and the Flash United F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. For all the effort they put into the match, the Flash United F.C. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
