After 10 minutes, Lưu Ritchell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vinh Yen and the Flash United F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Flash United F.C. booed when Vinh Yen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lưu Ritchell didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Nguyễn Hoai fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Flash United F.C.'s protests and gave Nguyễn Hoai a yellow card for diving instead. Nguyễn Hoai kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. When Đào Tuyet came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Vinh Yen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Đào Tuyet couldn't finish the play. Flash United F.C.'s Tạ Thi Ngoc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lưu Ritchell in the 20th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, Flash United F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Lưu Ritchell came free, but Tạ Thi Ngoc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Nguyễn Thi Ngoc left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vinh Yen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Nguyễn Duc lost his temper 27 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 33rd match minute, Vinh Yen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lưu Ritchell to maneuver through the defense. Đào Hoai who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Nguyễn Huynh Duc when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tạ Thi Ngoc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Thi Ngoc in the 42nd minute of play. Nguyễn Huynh Duc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Đào Hoai in the 44th minute of the match. In the 45th minute Vũ Ritchell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Huynh Duc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Huynh Duc made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Huỳnh Lam sent off a good shot on target.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Đào Tuyet made a kick off. Nguyễn Hoai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tạ Thi Ngoc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lưu Ritchell in the 54th minute of play. Đào Hoai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Nguyễn Huynh Duc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tạ Thi Ngoc was out of position in the 62 minute of play, and Lê Hieu Ngan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lê Hieu Ngan really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. In the 65th minute Đào Hoai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Huynh Duc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Đào Hoai in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nguyễn Huynh Duc prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nguyễn Huynh Duc didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nguyễn Hoai went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Đào Hoai in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nguyễn Huynh Duc saved Vinh Yen from getting behind. Đào Hoai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Nguyễn Huynh Duc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vinh Yen's Lưu Ritchell got his second yellow card of the match in the 88th minute. The referee ordered Lưu Ritchell off the ground. Lưu Ritchell hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Nguyễn Thi Ngoc's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 96thth minute, Tạ Thi Ngoc skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Vinh Yen had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
