Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Trần Tuan took the kick off in the first half of the match. Nguyễn Diem sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Phan Thanh Bình showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ngô Chung in the 11th minute of the match. Tôn Bien's late challenge caught a Tra Vinh's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tôn Bien helped the player get up and apologised. Tôn Bien hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. 18 minutes into the game, Trần Tuan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ben Tre's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tra Vinh the free kick. A collision led to Ben Tre getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Trần Tuan hit a great ball. 22 minutes into the match, Ben Tre's goal looked a bit too open when Ngô Chung came free, but Phan Thanh Bình reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tra Vinh's Phan Hanh got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ben Tre's Trần Van Quyen got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Phan Hanh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 39th minute, Nguyễn Hoang ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After 46 minutes of play, Tra Vinh's Nguyễn Diem made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Phan Thanh Bình was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 72nd minute, Trần Tuan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. The supporters of Tra Vinh booed when Ben Tre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Hung didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ben Tre's Phan Thanh Bình proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Ben Tre from getting a goal against them. Ben Tre's Phan Thanh Bình played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ngô Chung in the 82nd minute of play. If Trần Tuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ben Tre had won after a very even match.
