Phạm Dinh charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Phạm Dinh the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 4 played minutes Tra Vinh got a freekick which was hit by Phạm Dinh. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ninh Thuan. Đào Hung didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ngô Chung went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. 31 minutes into the game, Ninh Thuan's Hoàng Duy nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hoàng Duy in the 36th minute of play forced Tra Vinh's goalkeeper Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th match minute, Tra Vinh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Huỳnh Minh Phượng to maneuver through the defense. Lê Hung scored 2-3 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hoàng Duy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh having to interfere. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Teo, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hoàng Duy to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Teo in the 52nd minute of play forced Tra Vinh's goalkeeper Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Hoàng Duy came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Ninh Thuan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hoàng Duy couldn't finish the play. When Ninh Thuan's Nguyễn Teo, in the 57th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Ninh Thuan. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nguyễn Teo in the 74th minute. When Nguyễn Teo came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Ninh Thuan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Teo couldn't finish the play. After having played for 80 minutes, Ngô Chung managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tra Vinh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ngô Chung was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd minute, Ngô Chung ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Đào Hung was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. 86 minutes into the match, Tra Vinh's goal looked a bit too open when Hoàng Duy came free, but Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hoàng Duy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ngô Chung had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
