The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 7 minutes into the match, Skyblue's goal looked a bit too open when Szymon Paciuszko came free, but Trần Minh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lê Loc might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Trần Hoang. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lê Loc ran back to his position shaking his head. Trần Minh didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Szymon Paciuszko went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Trần Hoang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phạm Mai in the 28th minute of play. Saigon Kick's Szymon Paciuszko got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. La Bay kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Szymon Paciuszko made a kick off. Trần Minh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Szymon Paciuszko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Szymon Paciuszko struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Trần Minh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Saigon Kick. In the 72nd minute Nguyễn Minh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trần Hoang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Skyblue's zone, Szymon Paciuszko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trần Minh came out of the goal and Szymon Paciuszko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 81st minute, Szymon Paciuszko ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Trần Minh was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Lê Loc kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Saigon Kick were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Skyblue's much stronger midfield.
