Nguyễn Duc made in the 8th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Trần Hung immediately put the ball in play. In the 9th minute, Bùi Diem ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Đinh Thi Ngoc was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Hong Minh in the 12th minute of play forced Son Tay's goalkeeper Đinh Thi Ngoc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lương Hieu Ngan in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Phan Hong saved Ba Ria-Vung Tau from getting behind. When Lương Mai fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ba Ria-Vung Tau's protests and gave Lương Mai a yellow card for diving instead. Đinh Thi Ngoc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bùi Diem in the 29th minute of the match. After having played for 34 minutes, Trần Hung managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ba Ria-Vung Tau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trần Hung was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lương Hieu Ngan hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute of the game Nguyễn Duc made a throw-in which Bùi Diem played forward. Son Tay's Đinh Thi Ngoc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bùi Diem in the 43rd minute of play.

Huỳnh Chuong kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Bùi Diem scored 3-0 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Đinh Thi Ngoc, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Đinh Thi Ngoc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lương Mai in the 65th minute of play. Đinh Thi Ngoc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bùi Diem in the 66th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Son Tay's Huỳnh Chuong got a free kick in the 81st minute. Đinh Thi Ngoc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trần Hong in the 82nd minute of play. Phan Hong made an important save on a dangerous shot by Huỳnh Chuong in the 84th minute.
