But to his dismay, Bùi Diem quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1.

A collision led to Binh Dinh getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Nguyễn Liem hit a great ball. Nguyễn Chi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Võ Tan having to make a save. After having played for 59 minutes, Nguyễn Hong Minh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ba Ria-Vung Tau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Hong Minh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Phan Hong made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when La Hung sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Nguyễn Cadeo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Binh Dinh's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Cadeo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Phan Hong breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Phan Hong made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when La Hung sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Ba Ria-Vung Tau's zone, Đặng Chi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Phan Hong came out of the goal and Đặng Chi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Đặng Chi sped through Ba Ria-Vung Tau's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Phan Hong. 92 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Liem had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Phan Hong. Ba Ria-Vung Tau's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nguyễn Liem was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3.
